Mrs. Oswalt's Class

Welcome to my website!  I am delighted to have the opportunity to teach your child reading this year.  Your child will work diligently to become a better reader.  During our reading class, we hold focused reading lessons, read independently, listen and read along with books on CD, write purposefully, and develop an overall community of readers.

Your child should come to class prepared to learn everyday.

It is important for your child to follow our classroom rules.  The are as follows:

Follow directions and procedures the first time given.

Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

Speak kindly to all adults and peers.

Be prepared for class by having all supplies ready for the day.

Please click "file manager" to view helpful files.  Click "presentations" to view Powerpoint presentations that we view in class.

If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me by email at or by calling Overpark at 662-890-8745.  You may also send a note with your child.

April 24, 2018

Dear parents,

Your child will take the English Language Arts portion of the MAAP (Mississippi Academic Assessment Program), our state test that measures academic progress, on Wednesday, April 25, and Thursday, April 26. Your child will take the state science test on Friday, April 27.

Your child has worked diligently to prepare for these tests this year, and I am so pleased with the progress that I see in class. Please help your child by encouraging him/her to get plenty of sleep and eat healthy breakfasts throughout the week. With a good hug from you and words of encouragement, I am confident that we will have successful days of testing.

                Thank you for your support!
