About the Teacher/Welcome Msg

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from the University of Mississippi.

This year will begin my 16th year of teaching in DeSoto County.  This is my third year to teach SPED.  I have taught for 13 years in grades 3rd-5th as a general education teacher.   Prior to teaching, I worked for a manufacturing company for eight years.  I worked in both accounting and customer service.  I left the corporate world to live my dream of teaching.

I have been married for twenty-six years to a wonderful man, Jeff.  We have three terrific children, Matt, Bailey, and Madelyn and one grandchild, Weston.

Dear Parents:

I am so excited to be one of your child's teachers this year, either in person or virtually!  I can't wait to get to know your children as well as each of you.  As your child's special education teacher, I will work alongside the general education teacher providing extra support as needed.  Your role as a parent is very important to the IEP team as well.  It will take us all working together to ensure that your child has a successful year especially if and when distance learning is involved.  Please know that I am always here to help.  If you have any questions or concerns you can email me or contact me by calling the school.  Together we can make this year a huge success for your child.
